Data trends

The purpose of the source code will help you organize your inconsistencies in categories so you can quickly identify any trends. But if the codes are applied incorrectly, you will end up much time and resources on misleading trends, while inadvertently ignoring the actual development. To be effective, you must run the program to follow these 7 rules:

  1. Include Sub-Codes - If your program codes, the cause is too wide, has (ie, 5 M's), then you will find it very difficult to interpret trends. Therefore, it is best to provide the user with a variety of reasons as sub codes that sufficient detail.

  2. Define the codes - can vary because of the interpretation of all codes, it is important to you every issue and sub-code definition. For further clarification, give at least one example for each definition. Without consistent application of the code, you risk drawing the wrong conclusion, when you analyze the data inconsistency.

  3. Use the code Consistent - This part is important! You must check out a few records at regular intervals to see if the codes are used consistently, otherwise your application will trend will not be effective. Inconsistent use of codes means that you must either better definitions, examples or retraining .... sometimes create all of this kind.

  4. Clear Generic code - eliminating the use of a "miscellaneous" code .... or at least it is a serious restriction of the use. Codes are too general, usually to a landfill for the majority of non-compliance and make it difficult to reach a conclusion. The solution may be as simple as adding some more codes for your program, so you can be completely abolished Misc.

  5. To remove unused code - some code for a certain period, say 12 months or remains unused (delete) and then your program because they offer no benefit and may cause confusion.

  6. Examine overused code - Some numbers have a tendency to be overused, such as "Error Operator". Randomly draw any records to see if human error is actually protecting itself with the investigation. If not, then you have to investigate why the code is used so frequently and wrongly. It is my experience that often is used as remedies in connection with an operator error is less time (ie conversion or lawyer) reaction occurs, so that an investigation to end quickly.

  7. Do not change codes often - If you change options, too often, one can never be enough data to analyze. Wait at least a year before you make any changes, so do it with caution.
